Hewitt Claim Djokovic Will Win Wimbledon

Lleyton Hewitt claims Australian Open Champion, Novak Djokovic will be the man to conquer Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at the 2008 Wimbledon Championships which begin the 23 June.

How would Hewitt know? Well, he was beaten by Djokovic on Friday at the Queen’s Tour in the quarterfinals- and having won Wimbledon in 2002, knows exactely what he’s talking about. Hewitt has fallen to the Serb in the last 3 matches they have played.

“Last year he obviously beat me in a tough match at Wimbledon, then beat (Marcos) Baghdatis in a tough match, took the first set off Nadal before he forfeited in the semi,” Hewitt said.

“Up till then he hadn’t really had great success on grass, so he’s just going to get more and more confidence playing on grass over the years.

“He moves as well as anyone out there. He can flatten the ball out, and he’ll make life tough for both Roger and Rafa.”

Hewitt has, over the past year, moved down the rankings and one cant help but to feel his hopes of winning another Wimbledon Title are low. With an ever increasing hip-injury, Hewitt will begin practice at the beginning of next week in Wimbledon, All England Club.

Federer Back to His Winning Ways

Posted by admin

Roger Federer is back to his winning ways having beat German Michael Berrer at the Gerry Weber Open on Wednesday.

Federer, who was crushed in the French Open Final by Rafael Nadal, showed real class when he cruised to a 6-4 6-2 victory over Berrer.

The Swiss, who undoubtedly will be preparing himself for the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, eased to the second round at Halle to bring his total to 55 successive wins on this surface- not a bad record.
