Garrigues Advances To Strasbourg International Final
Anabel Medina Garrigues (last years Strasbourg International’s champion) beat Timea Bacsinszky 6-3, 6-3 in France. She has booked herself a place in the final, and will no doubt be firm favorite to win the competition.
The unbelievable Spaniard broke serve 5 times and will play Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia, who ended the run of unseeded Taiwanese Chan Yung-jan 6-1, 6-7 (8), 6-4, what a game that was- 2 hours and 19 minutes of riveting action.
Srebotnik will be playing her 1st final of the season, and no doubt will be eager to win because she has not won a title in the last 3 years. 2005 seems light years away, so she will want to add another title to her previous 5.
The Strasbourg is definitely a warm-up to the French Open which begins tomorrow!
