Serena Williams vs Mauresmo- Wimbledon 2008 Third Round
Twice Wimbledon Champion, Serena Williams takes on Frenchlady Amelie Mauresmo today at the third round of the Wimbledon 2008 Championships in London. Day 5 of the tournament promises to be even more exciting than the previous day, as we hasve seen many a “underdog rise to the occasion”.
Serena and Mauresmo have played each other ten times during their careers and while Serena leads 8-2, one must not forget that Mauresmo beat the world number six 6-4 0-6 6-2 in their previous encounter at the US Open in 2006.
This Wimbledon ladies third round battle begins directly after the Federer vs Gicquel encounter on Centre Court at the All English Club in London.
