Murray Beats Malisse in Wimbledon Second Round

Andy Murray, from Scotland, beat Belgian Xavier Malisse 6-4 6-2 6-2 in thier Wimbledon 2008 second round clash. The home favourite played to an impressive victory and a well awarded standing ovation from the crowd.

“I thought I served really well throughout,”Murray said about his wicked 16 aces.

Although Murray did feel comfy with his serve, hedid mention “My ground strokes could have been a little bit more solid.”

“Still, it’s nice to get off the court in straight sets,” he told BBC Television.

Andy Murray is aiming to become the 1st Britian to win a Wimbledon singles title in over 70 years. If the young Scotsman plays the way he did against Malisse, then who knows- his dream (and Britain’s) could come true.

Malisse admitted that he did not play to the best of his ability and that it was a tough game.

Both Malisse and Murray missed alot of action last year due to wrist injuries.

Murray is set to  face Tommy Haas from Germany in Wimbledon 2008′s third round…
